Have a great day!
The Rolex Submariner is a true icon - and the word icon does get thrown around a lot. If you were to ask 10 people to draw you their idea of a watch looks like - chances are they would draw or describe something that looks like a Rolex Submariner. It’s the dive watch of reference good/bad/indifferent there is no escaping it. Over its 70 year run there have been numerous changes made to the model, but this present 16610 represents a true fan favorite - and a very long running model from the lineup!
While the Rolex Submariner came out in 1953, it wasn’t until the Ref. 1680 in 1967 that it featured a date. The Submariner Date has of course gone on to become the top-selling variant of the Submariner family. One of the highlights in that series was the 16610 which holds several distinctions! It was the last Submariner Date to use tritium AND the last Submariner Date without a ‘MAXI’ Case! The present example features a tritium dial which has already begun to age to a very lovely lightly cream color - including the original bezel pip! While it may lack some of the flair its more vintage siblings have, this is a no-nonsense exceptional vintage watch that is still modern enough to take a beating and be worn daily by its next owner.
Hailing from the collection of a prominent collector and businessman who clearly cherished this piece throughout his collection and business success - it is ready for its next chapter of adventures with a new caretaker!
*Some marks or spots on the dial are reflections or dust on the crystal and are due to high intensity strobe lighting used while photographing. They are not actually on the watch or visible in natural lighting.

This is why you'll find our curated assortment spans decades of generations of models and brands. We believe that watches don't just tell time, they tell history - and life is too short to wear a boring watch.
