Omega Speedmaster Ref. 311.32.40.30.06.001 - HODINKEE 10-Year Anniversary Full Set

Sale price$10,850.00 USD

The Omega Speedmaster is one of the most historically important, if not the most important wrist watch ever produced, full stop. Its story can be summed up with one simple acronym: NASA. Surely, this is not a watch that needs an introduction with our audience....

And as with so many other icons and popular vintage models, the Speedmaster has seen countless iterations and variants over its nearly 70-years of continuous production.

The piece that we have here is a modern offering designed by Ben Clymer for the 10th anniversary of his brainchild, HODINKEE. Largely drawing inspiration from his first great watch, a Speedmaster MK40, it applies some color to a more traditional speedmaster with pops of blue, red, and yellow. Additionally, it also incorporates a case design familiar to enthusiasts of 1960s Speedys, while housing the long-running and robust manual-winding Cal. 1861 found in the generation of Speedmasters made alongside it.

This particular example is offered in strong overall condition, thankfully worn and enjoyed but not abused. It shows normal signs of wear throughout with a flawless dial and black aluminum bezel. The dark grey Omega strap and buckle show light wear with plenty of life.

It is accompanied by its outer box, 10th anniversary inner box, pictogram numbered 272/500, warranty card dated 1/16/2019, certificate of authenticity numbered 272/500, serialized hangtag, price tag, spring bar tool, and unworn Omega NATO-style strap.

For us at least, this is easily one of the best Speedmasters from the last decade and, like vintage pieces, has a great story tied to it.

From Rolex & Patek Philippe, to Cartier & Audemars Piguet. As collectors first, we love the small details that separate the Submariner from Daytona and Calatrava from Royal Oak. This is why you'll find our curated assortment spans decades of generations of models and brands. We believe that watches don't just tell time, they tell history - and life is too short to wear a boring watch.
