Longines 30CH Waterproof Chronograph Ref. 7413
Straight Facts
Longines is one of the most well respected manufacturers of the 20th century and this is due, in large part, to their incredible chronographs calibers. In 1936, Longines introduced the 13ZN, which is probably one of the the most iconic chronograph movements produced. The success of the 13ZN allowed further creations such as the 30CH and the 530 calibers, which are also highly regarded chronograph movements. Longines was renowned not only for being the first to present a flyback chronograph in a wristwatch, but also for how clean and instantaneous the chronograph action and reset was. The current example is a slightly more sophisticated, dressy version of the chronograph than its “tool watch”counterpart. The silvered dial has gained a nice patina and the case remains unpolished. Truly a wonderful and attractive vintage chronographs from one of the all time great watchmakers.
*Some marks or spots on the dial are reflections or dust on the crystal and are due to high intensity strobe lighting used while photographing. They are not actually on the watch or visible in natural lighting.
