Gallet MultiChron 30M Chronograph - 'Clamshell' Case
Over the last few years clamshell cases have become a true staple of a diversified vintage watch collection and have skyrocketed in popularity. Although there were many iterations, the first was this, the Gallet Clamshell. The clamshell case was patented in 1936 by Gallet themselves and served as the first waterproof case to primarily house chronograph calibers. It sparked a revolution of waterproof watches that was taken up by everybody from Breitling to Patek Phillipe. Gallet’s original design featured these exact specifications, but behind the gorgeous dial, the caseback is the true masterpiece. There are 4 screws that seal the two-piece case together, preventing any entry of the elements. These models were made for the adventurer as well as the professional. Used for everything from artillery timing to sports and racing, these watches are versatile and rugged and have no shortage of heft to their build quality. This particular example features a sharp clamshell case and a gorgeous multi-scale two-tone luminous dial. It also features red accents and some of the most attractive and bright printing I have ever seen. Not to mention that the handset boasts hour and minute hands which are blued and beautiful while the chronograph hand is one of the rarest there is, featuring a luminous configuration. This example is in exceptional condition with very minimal wear - we hope we look this good at 80!

This is why you'll find our curated assortment spans decades of generations of models and brands. We believe that watches don't just tell time, they tell history - and life is too short to wear a boring watch.
