Eberhard and Co. Scafodat Ref. 11532-1 - 'Brushed' Silver Non-Luminous Dial W/ Box
We've handled, collected, sold, and personally owned a number of Eberhards over the years, and it has become clear that each brings a distinctly different character to wrist. There's a consistent sense of individuality across the brands offerings and no two models feel quite the same. From the highly sought-after Scafograf, to the earlier and more obscure 'snail dial' chronographs, Eberhard's designs remain consistently engaging, each with a personality that sets it apart from the their contemporaries. This is not a manufacturer defined by restraint or uniformity, but rather by a willingness to experiment and specialize.
The piece that we have here, a Scafodat, is Eberhard's answer to the watch that started it all when it comes to blending something that can be dressed up while also having some more 'active' or 'sporting' elements: the Rolex Datejust. That is to say, this is the brands more refined, versatile, and refined approach to a wrist watch, rather than another piece rooted in specialized function like so many other models. Instead, the Scafodat distinguishes itself through proportion, restraint, and a quiet sense of individuality that feels entirely in keeping with Eberhard’s broader design ethos.

The example that we have here features a thick case that remains in strong, honest condition, housing a rare luminous ‘gilt’ dial complete with a matching ‘Dauphine’ handset found only on the first execution variants. This watch also comes fitted with an Eberhard-signed ‘stretch’ bracelet — also a rare find. Since these bracelets are folded metal, they tend to get stretched out, but this one has stayed very much intact.
Rounding out the package, this piece also comes fitted to is absolutely fantastic, solid rose gold 'stretch' flat-link bracelet with a signed blade clasp and its box.
Like many Eberhards, the Scafodat was produced in small numbers and is seldom-seen. This sold gold example, quite simply, is something we have never seen and very well may never seen again.
