Tudor Submariner Ref. 7928 - Open Chapter Ring Unpolished

Sale price$10,650.00 USD

Straight Facts

The Submariner, namely those produced by Rolex, has long been considered the cream of the crop when it comes to watch collecting as a whole. Possibly the most iconic watch ever produced, the Submariner has long standing utilitarian roots that span decades, and everyone who’s anyone has been spotted wearing one. However, if you look deeper into the Submariner line, you may find a less known but just as incredible model manufactured by Tudor. These pieces are not only more unique and rare than the traditional Submariner, but offer much greater value.

This particular example is one of the most desirable. The case is in extremely well preserved unpolished condition with large and sharp chamfers, typical of the period. However, the real star here is the dial. The ‘smily face’ dial has an open chapter ring typical of the late 1960s, and all the lume plots have aged to an even ‘cream-custard’ color the way we love. That outstanding aging and coloring continues onto the handset which does not even show signs of oxidation, and the original Long 5 bezel insert and matching lume pip are near-perfectly preserved. Fitted to a kahki brown NATO-style strap, this watch gives off the military vibes of its later MilSub and MN issued descendants! Tudor Submariners like this highlight why so many collectors gravitate towards the brand - as a comparable 1967 Rolex Submariner would be 5x the price, and not really 5x the watch!

*Some marks or spots on the dial are reflections or dust on the crystal and are due to high intensity strobe lighting used while photographing. They are not actually on the watch or visible in natural lighting.

From Rolex & Patek Philippe, to Cartier & Audemars Piguet. As collectors first, we love the small details that separate the Submariner from Daytona and Calatrava from Royal Oak. This is why you'll find our curated assortment spans decades of generations of models and brands. We believe that watches don't just tell time, they tell history - and life is too short to wear a boring watch.
