Enter the Submariner Date finished in solid 18k yellow gold: the Reference 1680\/8.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"\"\u003eThe example that we have here dates to circa 1978 and comes to us in excellent overall condition. The Oyster case and matching yellow gold Oyster bracelet have been gently, tastefully polished in the past respecting the intended proportions of the lugs. It shows normal wear and retains excellent, deep hallmarks and those gorgeous factory chamfers. The bracelet is tight and exhibits virtually no stretch. Inside, the blue dial features a satin surface, rather than the \u003cem\u003emore common\u003c\/em\u003e sunburst surface finishing. It shows only faint wear on the surface, with patinated applied 'nipple' indices and a beautifully matching handset. The bezel retains nice definition with an excellent blue insert and patinated pip.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"\"\u003eIt could be argued that a yellow gold GMT-Master makes sense, but a solid gold dive watch?
