All of that changed when President \u003cmeta charset=\"utf-8\"\u003eLyndon B. Johnson was spotted wearing one Rolex in particular: a Day-Date. The model has since become known worldwide as ‘The President’ and as a symbol of success and prestige. Simply put, this one stuck.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"\"\u003e\u003cmeta charset=\"utf-8\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe Day-Date was available for many years on a matching solid gold bracelet (called a 'President' bracelet), but also on a leather strap like the example that we have here.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eDating to circa 1980, this Ref. 18038 is offered in fantastic overall condition. The case shows signs of having been lightly professionally refurbished, with thick and symmetrical lugs and clear hallmarks present on the underside. It shows normal signs of wear throughout with matching wear on the the characteristic 'fluted' yellow gold bezel. The highlight of this piece, however, is the dial inside. Originally white, it has aged to a gorgeous and uniform cream-tone. It has applied yellow gold 'Roman' indices and a yellow gold handset to tie it all together.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eAdditionally, being a neo-vintage Day-Date, this piece features the almost magical 'quickset' movement function for setting the date.
